LifeGroups
LifeGroups are basic units of Christian community.  They are groups of 6-15 people committed to being the Church as established by Christ.  His words, works, and teaching provide the basis for life together.  These groups function as witnessing communities demonstrating the love of Christ.  As the groups grow and leaders are mentored, additional LifeGroups will be launched.

Are LifeGroups just another name for small group Bible studies?

Unless you've been in an unusual small group, these are probably different.  The LifeGroups are about Christians being in community, but it is also a very important way to introduce people to Christ.  This will occur as people are invited to the LifeGroups and as LifeGroup members learn to intentionally reach out to neighbors, relatives, and friends.

The four LifeGroup principles are: Upward, Inward, Outward, Forward.

What is a LifeGroup meeting like?

Meetings will include fellowship, sharing, worship, discussion, prayer, and outreach.  How the meeting actually "looks" will depend on the group leaders and the dynamics of the group.  LifeGroups are alike, yet uniquely different.

Will all LifeGroups study the same thing?

The study and discussion time will center on applications of the scripture passage from the previous Sunday's worship service.  Missing the message, however, will not impact participation in the discussion.

Where will LifeGroups meet and for how long?

LifeGroups
will meet weekly in homes throughout the area for approximately 90 minutes, depending on the dynamics of the group.

If I join a LifeGroup, am I stuck in that group "for life"?

No.  One of the goals of a LifeGroup is growth and eventual multiplication.  You might remain with a few members of your original LifeGroup family through several replications.  How quickly multiplication occurs depends on the growth of the LifeGroup and its community development.  Building community is a key element in all LifeGroups.  Groups may be together a year or more before new groups are launched.  Growing community takes time.

Are LifeGroups only for adults?

Most LifeGroups will be multi-generational.  Children of all ages are considered as important as the adults in the group.  Discussion times may involve a break-out period with age-appropriate activities for kids during adult discussion and sharing.  Very young children may be cared for by on-site childcare.  Children will build their own sense of community through LifeGroups with other children and with the adults in the group.

What is the relationship between LifeGroups and the Sunday morning service?

Sunday worship is a celebration assembly where God is honored and the word is preached.  There will be many present Sunday morning who are not yet part of a LifeGroup or who choose not to be part of a LifeGroup.
